Technical Performance

Why Double Covered.

Single covered yarn works for basic elastic. But when the finished product needs to hold shape, resist twist, and survive dyeing and weaving without losing recovery — double covered is the answer. Here's what goes into ours.

1. The Core

At the center: a rubber thread — the source of stretch. Consistent gauge, predictable elongation, clean recovery. No soft spots, no dead lengths.

2. The Wrap

Two layers of filament wrapped around the rubber core, in opposite directions:

First layer (S-twist): Locks the rubber in place, sets base tension.
Second layer (Z-twist): Wraps opposite to the first, cancelling out yarn torque.
Result: A yarn that stays straight, weaves cleanly, and dyes evenly.

3. The Covering

Standard polyester filament — durable, colorfast, and washable. Available in two ready-stock finishes:

Raw White Undyed base — ready for downstream dyeing to any color spec

Dope-dye Black Pigment-in-polymer black — colorfast from the yarn stage

Custom Color On request — via our in-house dye house downstream

4. The In-House Advantage.

We cover our own latex — which means the same team that wraps the rubber also weaves it, dyes it, and finishes it. Tension is calibrated for our looms. Colors are matched in our own dye house. Nothing gets lost in translation between supplier and factory.
